We’re incredibly proud to share that we were part of a major event like the Cursor Hackathon in Alexandria, organized by Cursor Egypt Community, and that our team Eng Techno secured 2nd place for the Convex Prize.
The experience was intense, exciting, and full of learning — genuinely challenging, yet extremely rewarding.
Our team consisted of:
- Ammar Yaser as Lead Full-Stack Engineer
- Moner Mohammed, a brilliant Software Engineer and the mind behind the project idea (the game)
- Majed Wahoub, one of the fastest and most skilled Full-Stack Engineers
- And of course, the creative backbone of the team, Abdelrahman Algohary, our UX Lead and Product Designer & Manager
We aligned on an idea and designed and built a complete MVP in under 6 hours.
Our idea was a game called “Amo Hakam.”
It’s a voice-based, two-player game where players ask each other questions, and a judge responds with witty, light-hearted commentary. We designed the judge with a strong Alexandrian personality to reflect the hackathon’s location, and the entire interaction was voice-only — playful on the surface, but technically solid underneath.
One of the biggest challenges was that we were required to use five different tools, most of which were either completely new to us or ones we hadn’t used deeply before. In just six hours, we learned, experimented, integrated everything together, and delivered a surprisingly smooth and fully working MVP.
We used the tools provided by the hackathon:
Cursor, Botpress, ElevenLabs, Miro, Vercel, and Convex.
This experience touched something deep within us. It reminded us why we started, why we keep going, and how powerful true teamwork can be when everything clicks.
We’re grateful for the experience, the team, and every high-pressure moment that turned into a moment of pride. 🚀
